Kevin Martin Lead Singer for TGF: The song “Crying Time” is about your deceased friend Wendell, who managed Whisky Bar is Los Angeles. How did that song come together?
We had just moved into this rehearsal studio in Orange County. Sean and Chad were playing the melody of the verse and I immediately thought of Wendell. We attempted several times to write the song and finally said, “Look this song is going to write itself when it's ready.” We got into the studio and the song just unfolded right in front of us. The lyrics were easy to write because it's something you always want to say to a friend who's not around anymore. It's not an easy conversation to have when you're sitting across the table from the person when you know they're struggling with something.
